Day Two Hundred and Twenty Eight

Chicago - The Second Day

Grant park walk. Decided the Shedd aquarium line was too long, it was free entry day for Illinois residents. Touched one of the coveted Olmec heads. Walked to the Field Museum featuring Ancient Egyptian mummies, the Bio-luminous Creatures of the world, Sue the T-Rex, IMAX Great White sharks feature and the Evolution of Animals exhibit. Soldier Field, home of the Chicago Bear. Sears Tower, where I used the highest restroom in the Western Hemisphere. Sky Deck of Sears Tower. Traditional deep dish Chicago pizza Giordano's. The Art Institute of Chicago. State street shopping. A quick Nordstrom Rack pit stop for Kyle to find some shoes that aren't team issued. Don't worry, they're still Nike. Chicago Theatre. Hard Rock Hotel. Rain Forest cafe. Michigan street stroll by the lit features of Grant park. Brownie pie at a tiny dive bar.

Full vacation day much? I'm in heaven.

Visiting Sue, the T-Rex

Literally standing over Chicago, 103 stories up at Sear's Tower. This clear ledge juts out of the Sky Deck for 4 feet and Chicago goes about its day directly below. Notice my solo venture, my fiance was a little timid, despite the fact that this ledge can hold 5 tons of weight!

Chicago's River Walk, standing over the river at the Clark street bridge.
