Week 32

Channing is 33 weeks along today! And heavy, very heavy. Kyle and I went to the midwivery clinic this morning, and everything is going well. Channing is still measuring about a week behind, hard to believe with this round belly, but it still seems like she'll be a smaller sized baby. The only questions we had for our midwivery team today were the natural ways to make sure she's late (cheers to playoffs), and how to stop my eye from twitching constantly. Like for 6 hours straight while I was in court with clients yesterday. Hah! Here's sweet little Channing at the midwivery clinic this morning.

Many of you know our central AC unit pooped out this weekend. Ahhh, the joys of 8 months of pregnancy and summer weather. It really wasn't pretty. My newest heroes are Matt, our maintenance guy, who brought over a schnazzy portable unit for our home that you can wheel where ever the pregnant lady goes...errrm around the house. And Chris and Mikayla, who drove my car home from Cashman Field this week. Because to add to the awesomeness of the no AC in our house, one of our off season SUV's had it's AC go out again on Monday. Thankfully I'm one cool Momma again, and I'm so very grateful for all the help!

 

A few highlights for Miss Adelyn this week, wacky hair day at school and her very last soccer game of this season! She loves to play defense and specializes in shark attacks! 

And I got to play with my camera quite a bit this week! Hip, hip, hooray! Photography is so special, besides snapping a quick shot of Addie at her last soccer game that's totally Topps worth, this week I was honored to help a wonderful family announce that they're expecting a new addition...and you can go ahead and guess the gender of this little blessing from the photos. Tonight, I got to wade around in the Spokane River for the last set of photos of stunning V that I'm sharing here. I'm starting to get a little too big and uncoordinated for these shoots, so I'm totally relishing the last sessions I have booked for the next three weeks. It's going to be so difficult to turn more folks away, but I'm looking forward to being back after Channing arrives!

Week 31

It's the start of the 32nd week! I can't believe we'll be meeting our sweet peach in two months. 

 

Highlights of the week: 

 - I forgot to order my breast pump, for the fourth week in a row. Garrrr.

- Channing was the size of a pineapple, the most popular clothing item and smoothie ingredient in our home. 

- We can see Channing's feet, and sometimes her bum or elbow, poking out of my belly. 

 - We purchased the glider for our nursery on Amazon Prime Day (I sure hope you didn't miss it!)

- Channing and I swam the 3/4 mile Ironman loop from Sanders beach! She's a good sport. 

- Mom's now outfitted with a super awesome pelvic girdle since Channing has been leaning into my left hip. As promised by the midwife and chiropractor, it does help with the physical pain and grinding that was happening in my hip. However, it doesn't help my self esteem when my Earth side kid lifts up my shirt in the middle of her preschool classroom to show it off to her friends. Siiiigh. 

Over the weekend, we attended the Adam Capaul Memorial Legion game with our friends, and our second family, the Capauls.

On Sunday we headed down to Sanders beach to paddleboard with Alex, and stuff our faces with cheeseburgers and milkshakes afterwards. NUM!

Now you're probably wondering why I don't have any other photos for the rest of the week....but it's because I was super busy with my big camera instead of my iPhone! So here's few of my favorites from the last week:

Week 30

Sorry for the late posts amigos, it's been busy busy in our neck of the woods!

Last check in, we were on our way to Red River! Yippy! We had a great time hanging out in the wilderness, swimming in the river, riding 4 wheelers and all that fun stuff.

(Oh yea, and Channing got a little rounder! Hehe) 

We made it back to civilization just in time for Addie's first soccer game!

We found out that Dad's team is playing it extra safe and having him rehab a bit longer. We were a little bummed, but got our baseball fix at the Spokane Indians game. 

While on the subject of baseball, Dad's baseball card for this year was released this week as well! 

And now for Channing updates! We saw the midwife again this week, Channing is a bit of booger and causing some hip pain for me. She's very active, and measuring just a week behind in size. Her nursery is finally all cleaned out of all of our extra office supplies! We've been picking up the rest of her items this week via Zulily (Zebi organic cotton accessories) and Pharmaca (hello Grovia and Earth Mama Baby Angel discounts). 

Dad has been amazing, cooking dinner and breakfast for his ladies, keeping the laundry going, grocery shopping and offering to paint my toe nails and massage my feet. Seriously. Addie, on the other hand, demanded a buck after massaging my feet for me the other night. Smart cookie!

And, as promised, some more photos of Channing's nursery...and the sweet little babe herself! (Dad insisted on getting in a picture, I think he likes playing with the camera as much as I do!) 

Weeks 16 to 25 (YIKES)

I have 14 weeks and 3 days left to go. How did this happen since my last post?! 

We have been so busy. I don't crave busy anymore, but all of a sudden I feel like I can't escape it. 

So what have we been up to?! 

Our first Vegas trip! Check! Flying is becoming more difficult, it's harder for me to stay comfortable and carry luggage through the airport, but seeing Dad is so worth it! And transferring everything from my over the shoulder Lulu Lemon bag to a rolling suitcase is the key. Sigh.

Channing Mae became half way grown, hello 20 weeks!

Channing went to her first ever Beatles event and Cirque de Soleil performance. And maybe her first Las Vegas casino, the Mirage. (Okay, it was Mom and Dad's first exposure to these phenomenal acrobats too!) 

We started using our cool new power tools for nursery decorations, while Dad ground his teeth from five states away. Tehehe!

We finished up our spring planting. Mom planted strawberries, and Addie planted corn and morning glory.



We rooted on the Lake City High School softball team at their semi-regional competition with slurpees, and cheered hard for Coach Amanda!

Mom took some cool pictures of Channing and a few families too. 

We counted down the days until the Tacoma games.



Our besties celebrated a very special birthday before their big move to Nashville.

 We hugged Dad and loved on him like crazy in Tacoma.

We also snuggled with Grandma and Grampa, and they were happy to snuggle on their girls. And four days later Mom flew out to Las Vegas for the second time this season.

Airport selife - times two!

We went to the Venetian for the Rock of Ages with our friends. Channing braved another rowdy Vegas casino. 

 

And the hot, hot sunshine at Cashman Field.

 It was well worth it though to watch Dad pick out the perfect diaper bag for Channing.

We went to Mobius and a sushi dinner one last time with our besties before their move. 

 

Dad hurt his hand after being hit by a pitch during a game, he surprised us all by coming home to rehab for a bit. Which meant he was with me for my birthday, for the first time ever! Blessings come in the strangest ways sometimes.

His injury also meant he was home for the long planned shower for Channing! Graciously hosted by my sweet, sweet besties, Kendall and Kelsi the baby shower was a huge, adorable, hit.

After the shower, we went to help Kelsi and Kali pack up the last of their things, load the car, and prepare for departure to Nashville. Kelsi snapped this picture of us at the store afterwards, Channing is the size of a large head of cauliflower this week!

Do you feel caught up yet? I hope to never go this long again! In regards to Channing, it's been a huge help to have Kyle home. He set up the nursery for her with help from his friends Zach and Tucker. (Thanks you two!) Channing sure is spoiled, and has received her car seat (Peg Perego 4.35), her jogging stroller (BOB Revolution), her swaddles (all organic cotton - Aden & Anais, Bebe Au Lait, and Captain Silly Pants), her carriers (Lille Baby and Solly Baby Wrap), her monitor (Summer BabyZoom WiFi that will allow Dad to keep an eye on her for the few weeks he'll travel with out us), her bassinets (a Summer for the couch downstairs and a Brica for travel), she's also received one of her cloth diapers (BumGenius) and several disposables (Honest Company). We were also gifted our relatively revolutionary breastfeeding supplies (Kiinde) and are in the process of ordering our breast pump (Medella Style Advanced) and we are so grateful that it's fully covered by our insurance! (Don't forget that the Affordable Care Act provides free breast pumps as part of the preventative care revisions!) I researched and researched to pick items for Channing that would best suit our traveling life style and I'm excited to keep you updated on how these products work out for our family. We have a few specific things left to collect: Dr. Browns glass bottles, Arms Reach Co-Sleeper, travel bouncer, 4Moms Crib, additional cloth diapers and qBit or Britax B-Agile travel stroller. (If you have a suggestion on which of these would be a better fit for flying, I would love to hear it!) I think we're getting close to ready, if there is such a thing. We did plan our official birth plan, and our doula and midwives are ready for anything baseball or genetics (precipitous labor) may throw our way. Now if only I could find some free time to use finish up my sewing and crafting projects for the nursery!
