New Year, New Goals.

I'm not particularly fond of the concept of a "resolution," once a year goal setting seems counter productive to me. However, this last year has been a wild, wild, roller coaster. My husband and I rededicated our lives to Christ in December, less than three months after we said "I do." Throw in a trade from the LA Angels to the NY Mets this last season, and we're talking lots of new changes. So this January 1st seemed an appropriate day to set resolutions, quite possibly for the first time in my life. I'll continue to set new goals and possibly change my current ones as the year unfolds but for now, here's to a new year of challenges and adventure.

Learn, learn, learn.
   - Complete my CAFAS (Child and Adolescent Functional Assessment Scale) training in order to perform functional assessments for my clients who are under the age of 18.
   - Obtain my bartenders certificate.
   - Read the bible this year (feel free to join me, Buy One Year Study Bible).
   - Take at least one free class at MIT.
   - Renew CPR/1st Aid/Lifeguard certification.
   - Complete my English as a Second Language teaching certificate. And plan a trip to Guatemala immediately after.
   - Take an art class, preferably painting.

Physical health.
   - Crossfit or bootcamp three times a week.
   - Run a 5k in every town we live in this season.

Adventures with my husband.
   - Travel across the United States, by car.
   - Stop at landmarks, frequently. And take photos for the kids. Blog it for the family.
   - Send lots of postcards. It's a lost art.

Connect with Christ, my family, and community.
   - Find a small group and church, first thing, after each move.
   - Skype Adelyn as much as possible.
   - Call my dad and my brother, at least once a week. No matter how busy we are.
   - Volunteer with delinquent youth.
   - Email my grandparents, and my husbands grandmother, once a week.
   - Support my mother in law as she happily transitions to a new, healthy lifestyle.
   - Love, love, love on family members who have not accepted Christ into their lives. I hope to find the strength to openly share His word with them.

And it begins.
