Second Season: Day 19

Our sweet friend Casey, a Mizzou softball player, arrived in Florida earlier this week for the Citrus Classic. Remember the family who let us stay in their guest house waaaaaay out in the wilderness when we were temporarily homeless after last season? That's her and her parents! Not to mention Casey's dad, Chris, has played a huge role as a mentor and coach to Kyle for several years. Casey and Kyle hit together this off season, and Kyle also coached several of her friends. We are blessed to have the Stangle's in our lives.

I kept reminding myself that she would be close but we had an unfortunate feeling we would miss her games with Kyle's Spring training commitments. After some discussion earlier this week, we decided I would go to her games no matter what Kyle's schedule was. And hopefully Kyle could make it. Miraculously, Kyle's commitments today ended at 2, and Casey's first game was late starting so we made it there just in time to see her throw her first pitch. We stayed through her whole first game, caught up with her during the break, and then stayed for half of her second game. Talk about a long day of baseball! Not to mention we didn't realize her game was at Disney's Wide World of Sports....meaning we drove all the way back to Disney today! I'm so ready for salted caramel gelato and bed.

Citrus Classic!

With Miss Casey after she "shoved" her first game. ("Shoved" is the down and dirty field lingo for "pitched really well!")

Casey's mom caught us on ESPN!
