Day Three Hundred and Six

A busy day in the life of the (almost) Johnson family. Today marks two weeks, 14 days, 336 hours, 20,160 minutes and 1,209,600 seconds until the wedding. Whatever, whatever. Alright you got me, I'm excited!

We, of course, spent the day at the park and watching one of our favorite movies. And playing soccer, because in a fit of craziness, I was persuaded to join a recreational soccer league. Even though I've never played soccer. Okay, maybe I clocked my last game in kindergarten when I announced to my mother that I never wanted to play soccer again because it "made my feet too sweaty." Why tennis, basketball and football never made the sweaty feet cut is beyond the processing capabilities of both my five year old brain, and my now twenty three year old brain. 

They're Grrrrreat!

This Saturday we took Adelyn to see her Great Great Grandmother, who turned 80 last week! Holy smokes, right?! It was a very awesome experience, and although Miss Ad was sleepy, she walked in and announced, "Happy birttthday Nana!" Nana and Elmer were so excited to see her, and this is the kind of family I love to visit. Although it was my first time meeting them, their warmth and positive demeanors were wonderfully addictive. We swapped stories, hugs and shared delicious home made cookies. Just another beautiful day with our incredible family, and every moment is so special! We are truly blessed to be surrounded with such supportive people.

Christmas Program

Adelyn's first Christmas program was scheduled on the night after two of my finals and one of her dads. I also had another final first thing the next morning, throw in work that afternoon, babysitting and baseball work outs. Sigh, typical.

I packed the car after my final, made sandwiches for the road, and set out the study materials I needed to cram with. Oh and I also made the required cookies (Adelyn has been telling me she wants "caaake!!" for Christmas for the past month, so in good humor I did make cake cookies.) Her dad finished his final, came and picked me up and we were on the road!

We were fortunate enough to grab dinner with some of our most amazing friends, and then we were off to the program. We were definitely early, and set claim to the perfect seats to take pictures at. Typical of Sue. I also unburied the camcorder that my Daddy got me for Christmas when I was on my snowboarding kick. Nice to know I'm filming babies with it these days, instead of my friends and I breaking our arms on rails at White Pass. Ohhh, the glory days.

Adelyn did great! She spent two and a half weeks practicing but totally forgot her lines and to shake her jingle bells. She showed us her beautiful art work. Perfectly adorable. Loving on our favorite little girl never gets old...even when it's past her bedtime and she's sugar high!
