Roma - Giorno Uno

Boarded the plane in San Francisco around 2 pm and got this party started right with free Champagne.

12 hours and 5785 miles later...we land in Frankfurt. They stamped my passport...I've officially been to Germany. Security and lines were atrocious. We barely caught our Rome connection.

2 hours and 977 miles later we finally land in Rome. Aunties luggage went missing on the way here. Funny because before we had both decided on the plane it could be a secret bonus if we lost our luggage...more shopping right?

Arrive at Hotel Majestic.

Our room
Yea, you know exactly what that's for
Threw our stuff in the room and went out for a bite to eat. I had my first ever tiramisu...delicious. Outside the restaurant was this little guy...

It's purpose, we're not entirely sure
And then:

Piazza Barberini - Fontana del Tritone

Bernini's fountain of the sea god, this fountain has been spouting for 350 years

It rained today. Thankfully we got in later so there was only a small amount of time to spend in it. It's supposed to rain tomorrow and be clear the rest of the week. Vatican's on the menu after breakfast tomorrow.

Please excuse typos and errors, I haven't slept in 27 hours....bed time, Sue out.
