Today was FULL of baseball.
This morning I got a little relief for my intense case of baby fever. I spent the morning with this little ham while his mom was catching up on some sleep after a long night of working at the hospital. She works the night shifts as an ultrasound tech which means we hang out a lot in the morning and early afternoons! Perfect for working on our ball game and a tan in his dad's prized swimming pool.
In the baseball world, today marked the 72nd game of the B-Met's season. Several players from the Advanced A team in Port St. Lucie made their way to Binghamton to join the roster. In my baseball world, this time of the year marks the "half-way," point! We're officially on the downhill of our first full season with the Mets.
After a rough game the other day, Kyle decided to get a hair cut. Surely the long hair was resulting in bad ju-ju at the plate! The hair cut happened in the locker room. Performed by a teammate. During the game Kyle had a tail on the top of his head. There was a large patch on the back of his head that hadn't been trimmed while the remaining parts of his head had been nicely lined up. I resisted the urge to say anything while we all giggled in the stands. I noticed the floppy tail was gone when he came out of the locker room after the game. Later when I mentioned the tail, he said that in the middle of his hair cut his coach called everyone to the dug out earlier than planned...leaving him with a half-do for the game as the boys rushed out mid-trim. In the end, Kyle got a free and much needed trim. Win-Win. Adios, Goldilocks, it looks great! Kyle is very excited to be traveling with his new pillow pet, one of his Father's Day gifts. This will be the first road trip traveling with his pet, you can see a candid shot of "Monkey," below.
